Francis spent the early years of his life as a herder looking after the family livestock. Before I could herd alone my father saw the need to take me to school. He was a difficult child, but his grandfather recognized some potential in this rude child, and pushed for him to be educated. He recently graduated from Eldoret University with a degree in wildlife management, and diplomas in tourism, community development and project management. Francis was supported through his education by the Murphy, Johnson and Zimmerman families, without whom his success would not have been possible.
